Tiffany graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology with a Minor in Conservation and Resource Studies. At UC Berkeley, she researched the neurocircuitry of frontal cortical neurons involved in visual processing and volunteered biweekly at the student-run free clinic, Hep B Project. In addition, she was involved with Project Nicaragua and traveled abroad to rural cooperatives in Estelí, Nicaragua to install water filters, teach nutrition workshops, and build sustainable community gardens.  After graduating, Tiffany worked at the Diabetes Center at University of California, San Francisco as a laboratory manager and studied the onset of Type 1 Diabetes in pancreatic beta cells.  She is eager to integrate her passion for research, sustainability, and UC Irvine SOM’s advanced ultrasound curriculum this summer in Indonesia to collaborate with Indonesian health professionals and increase utilization of ultrasound as an effective diagnostic tool in global healthcare.
