Alex Wang

Alex grew up in San Diego and graduated from UC Davis with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. Throughout college, he was involved in various extracurricular activities and discovered his passion for medicine after joining Clinica Tepati, a student run free clinic that provides free healthcare to the underserved population in Sacramento. His experiences, which were truly eye-opening, gave him insight into the significant barriers and costly realities of medicine for patients without health insurance. Following graduation, he continued strengthening his passion for the underserved by becoming a pharmacy volunteer at the UCSD Student Run Free Clinic and working as an ER scribe in an area with numerous uninsured patients. Currently, Alex is one of the two Executive Administrators at the UCI Outreach Clinic and hopes to significantly improve upon the services provided to patients. These unique experiences in multiple healthcare settings has taught him various ways of providing healthcare with limited resources. He is eager to once again learn healthcare in a new environment but, more importantly, to use his knowledge to help the underserved population in Indonesia.
